We’ve had potatoes, sliding down a wintery hill, but seriously… Great senior prank, or GREATEST senior prank?

<B Class of 2013
Awesome opportunity at DSHA today! Jennifer Buffett in on-campus to talk with our girls about her philosophy of philanthropy; empowering girls and women to lift up half the sky.
My takeaway: Problem solving and collaboration, learning to embrace failures every day; these are important skills for our girls to find themselves and their place in the world so they can transform communities.
It’s a long-shot, but I thought I’d ask:
Is your school looking into/has implemented a new phone system that includes video capabilities (telepresence)?
If you have, I’d like to know how you crafted your Request for Proposal.
- Did you complete a needs analysis before your bid – in-house or consultant?
- Did you look at IP video vs telepresence?
- Did you bid hardware and service provider together?
- If you used a consultant, who did you use (and would you recommend them)?
Your help is appreciated, and I’d be very interested in connecting with you as we are investigating telepresence at our high school!
Amazing 2-days that culminated with Multicultural Production this afternoon. It was so great to cheer on our singers, dancers, readers, and performers - so proud of this community!
The next two days I’ll be participating with my Sophomore mentoring group in View 360: DSHA Perspectives.
View 360 is a 2-day intensive learning experience for the entire school community. There are no classes, but instead all-day experiences and reflections on faith, intellect, morality, and social awareness. The goal is to provide a teach-in that inspires connected, well-adapted, and well-educated global citizens.
Students, teachers, and staff mentors will participate in:
- A celebration of the variety of perspectives present in our community
- “Boxes and Walls” experience - rooms that provide vignettes, research, and hands-on activities to gain perspective on socioeconomic status, multiracial, LGBTQ, and portrayals of women in media misconceptions and misrepresentations
- Curriculum based on viewing the film CRASH
- Guest speakers
- Multicultural student performances
It’s an exciting opportunity for me and our young women, so I’ll be focusing my energies on this for the next 2 days. I created the above “brick” to prepare for one of our activities Building A Bridge To Peace. Fanmail, ask, or email/tweet me if you want to know more.
The server room glowed with its appliances all-a-light,
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT!
With Greg here to help fix the UPS in rack,
We got started early so our scheduled outage is on track…
The lockers in the basement were closed with great care
And gwen hoped that the phone guy soon would be there…
Legally Blonde The Musical
This Fall, DSHA Theatre will be the first area high school to bring the 2001 blockbuster movie, Legally Blonde to the stage in the Broadway musical adaptation. Follow Elle Woods and her trusty sidekick Bruiser as they journey from the sorority house to the halls of Harvard law. This production is packed with powerfully-playful numbers with all the characters you learned to love from the movie. With a cast and crew of eighty students, seven teachers and two pooches, you will surely be delighted from beginning to end.
